Spent the day putting more things away and getting rid of a lot of things that I have not touched for years. Feels great to get a lot of "things" out of our energy. Hope Sally Ann will be happy with our things. Went for a walk to mail a letter and came back with 3 bottles of wine (practicing for Italy).
My first day running in several months......I am too tired to write much other than to say it was great to finally get back into my running. Short run of only 3.5k in the rain but it is a start.

March 26, 2012
This weekend the sun was calling us outside but we were busy doing more work on the condo. We did have a couple of walks along the boardwalk to get groceries and also to let Maggie meet her friends.
Our to do list is getting shorter every day.
Only 31 days until we leave!

Word Verification
Thanks to the push from Doug & Nancy I have now turned the word verification off on the blog. Simple thing to do when the computer is up and running. Last week I changed our wireless name and password rather than using the one given to us by Shaw......then my computer could not renew its IP address. Sat on the phone last night waiting for tech support to tell me what I had done wrong. After 35 minutes of me waiting and trying things myself I was able to renew the IP address. Anything with the computer is simple as long as you know what to do!!
Yesterday morning mother nature gave us a last kick from winter. Rain, hail, and then sunshine but cold.

Sunny Sunday
Sunday the day of rest....HA HA. Morning started off by putting up a couple of blinds in the living room. Tonight I can put up the kitchen blind.
Just finished lunch with DQ. Danna is doing her interior design planning for DQ's living room now and will be moving on to other rooms in a few minuted.

About Us
This is our story of how we found ourselves living in Italy.
Our first adventure to Europe was in 1977 with one week in the UK and a two week bus tour of Europe. Back then we were not thinking about retirement as it was so far away. My how time flies! We are now retired!
Our trips have included several cruises in Europe and the Caribbean. Whenever we went on a trip our scheduled return flight was scheduled before we were ready to return. Being retired the pressure of a return flight did not exist.
Our favorite spot in Europe was Italy, specifically Northern Italy. Our visits to Venice felt like a homecoming.
Several years ago we talked about going to Italy for a trip, then the idea of living in Italy came up. First thought was that we must be crazy. The more we talked about it the better the idea sounded.
I spoke some Italian but Danna did not. That is a simple problem to solve. We enrolled in Italian classes and now we could communicate with the shop keepers. The best way for our Italian to improve even more was to live in Italy for a while and be with the locals.
Then all we had to do is let our children know we are leaving for a few months or maybe longer. First they thought we were joking and then they said "Send us a postcard".
Plans were made to take a repositioning cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Civitavecchia, Italy. My parents left Italy on a ship and I returned on one. From what I have been told todays cruise lines today are much more luxurious than their ship.
